260 Alexander Avenue

friezetag

Gimme the lute, gimme the lute, now stop, everybody frieze! Probably carved in the Bronx (before hip-hop) maybe at nearby Piccirilli studios? 260-266 Alexander Avenue was built in 1892-1893 by Carl A. Millner in the Queen Anne Style. The main doorway is surmounted by a richly carved frieze. (Mott Haven Historic District Report by the city of New York, 1969.
